A new name for FDC (2004-07-22) It was an exciting evening last Sunday in FDC. We discussed the amazing similarities between the early Christians 2000 years ago and what is happening in FDC now. - They all walked by faith in the middle of great difficulties. The brothers and sisters in FDC face uncertainties, guilt, social rejection, separation from love ones, harassment of all kinds, confusion, fear and loneliness. Yet they wake up everyday giving thanks and praising God. - They all dedicated themselves to God. The brothers and sisters in FDC literally gather everyday to pray, study the word of God and seek God's will. "Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." (Acts 2:46-47) - They all dedicated themselves to share and support each other. The brothers and sisters in FDC do not have much, but they share the little they have. "They gave to anyone as he had need." (Acts 2:45) Most importantly, they support each other in prayer. They have one of the inmates' room dedicated to be the room of prayer, set aside for meeting our holy God in the middle of a evil tank. Do we wake up to give thanks? Do we meet God everyday? Do we share when we have lots? Perhaps we do not need to go back in time to find the answers. All we need to do is to visit FDC and see. Thus, I propose that FDC can be renamed from
"Federal Detention Center" to "Faith & Devotion Church".
Welcome to FDC! Peter |
