Happy Moms in Prison (2005-05-08)

Two 8-year-old twin sisters worked busily to put the heart-shaped
stickers on these hand made mother day's cards.  In order to comply with prison regulation, the cards were made with the simplest material possible.  They wanted to make these cards for the mothers in Federal Detention Center.  They knew that the cards would make them happy.

For many reasons, one sister in FDC shared that her relationship with
her kids is not close. The card she received today is the first mother's
day card in her life.

A sister remembered her daughter who told her one day, "I love you mom very, very much. It's like from here to the sky. You know? The place where God lives."

This sister shared with us that her divorced husband is now starting
to go to church, and she herself has changed a lot by God. She is thinking that there might be a possibility that her former husband and she could rebuild her marriage again. PLEASE put this couple in our prayer.

Yet another sister remembered her 3-year-old  child handing a basin to
her when she was sick in bed. Her child said, "Mom, this way, if you throw up, you can use this basin. Then you won't mess up the bed."

Cindy, Gloria, Man, Flora, Crystal, Steven and Pastor Li, thanks for
being there to support the inmates tonight, especially the moms. This means a lot to them.

The twin sisters made 50 mother's day cards. They knew that the
mothers in FDC would be happy. They knew Jesus would be happy. They knew that their mother, who died when they were 1 month old, would be happy in heaven.
